But, on the plus side I have lots of cashy-cash! Yay!
School's starting up next week (!!) for me which is just waaay too soon, and I'm sort of wishing I had a week or so off to start getting back into 'school-mode' as it were...but I have all of 1 day off (on Saturday) to try to wrangle some used books up and attempt to organize my study area (which is in the same disasturous state as it was when I finished school back in early May...urg, I'm such a terrible procrastinator, it's not even funny...).
I finally got in some artwork done this week, and it's devoted to my latest fictional character "crush", the lovely Nordic Vampire Eric of "True Blood". I only *just* got into the show this summer and now the 2nd Season is nearly over (Wah!) and I'm tempted to delve into the book series that the show is loosely based on, even though I've heard mixed things regarding the author strength in prose (or lack thereof...think "Twilight" except with more sex and blood and other adult themes).
But I'm just sooooo curious to see where Eric's character (on the show) may or may not be heading in the distant future, depending on what they decide to include from the novels.
Anyhoo, saw 'District 9' over the weekend. Very original - loved Christopher the alien and his son. Made me feel pretty frustrated with the blatant racism (albeit metaphors) that was on display throughout the film...but I liked the pseudo-documentary style of filming. Sort of like 'Cloverfield', but with way better acting and no one actually being followed around with a camera (like seriously who would want their face stuck to a viewfinder or obstructed by a video camera during a monster-fueled crisis? That was the part that took me out of that film...and again, the subpar acting that was displayed.) save for at the beginning of the film.
Was originally supposed to see 'Inglorious Basterds', but it was sold out at the time. Boooo-urns!
Well, I've got an early day again tomorrow (all week in fact) starting at 7am, so I got to go beddy-bye now!
Bye!
